The legal terms for using Gout Guru
Effective Date: December 5, 2025
Welcome to Gout Guru. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Gout Guru mobile application, website, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
You must be able to lawfully enter into these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of another person or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind them.
2. Accounts & Eligibility
Gout Guru uses Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Apple account. If you believe your account is compromised, contact us.
3. License & Acceptable Use
We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal health-tracking purposes. You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, or infringe our intellectual property.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
Pricing: Annual $24.99/year (3-day trial) and Monthly $2.99/month (no trial), billed through the App Store and managed by RevenueCat. Taxes may apply.
Trials renew to paid plans unless cancelled before the trial ends. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel in your App Store settings. We do not provide medical reimbursements.
5. Health Disclaimer
Gout Guru does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment. Always seek advice from a healthcare professional. Do not rely on the Service for urgent medical needs.
6. Data
Your entries (habits, flares, uric acid, notes) are stored in Convex and tied to your account. See the Privacy Policy for details on how we handle data.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties. To the extent allowed by law, Gout Guru disclaims implied warranties and limits liability to the amount you paid in the 12 months before a claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or misuse. You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel subscriptions via the App Store. Sections that should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and governing law) will continue.
9. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding its conflicts rules. You agree to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Orange County, California.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or by email. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
